The Cookie Department Review and Giveaway 6/11

I have to admit that I love cookies. If I make them here at home,I find myself snacking on them all the time.

I recently was given the opportunity to try some cookies from The Cookie Department.

These are not your ordinary cookie~each cookie is "fully functional" to meet your needs.  Each one is individually wrapped and I could not believe the size of them~they are huge! As soon as Bob saw them he could not wait to try them! The first one that he tried was the Tough Cookie. This one was his favorite~with peanut butter toffee and just the right amount of crunch. I choose the Chocolate Chip Nookie as my favorite, the rich flavor of chocolate and just a touch of sea salt made it heavenly. Not to mention that the cookies are all natural,,non transfat, and have no artificial flavors. I love that I can eat these cookies and not feel guilty.

The Cookie Cepartment's "fully functional" cookies are not just mouthwatering treats. Each of the five flavors fall into a specific lifestyle category, from the "Awaken Baked" caffeinated chocolate chip cookie to the "Snap Back" hangover aid cookie (with ginger, cayenne pepper, blackstrap molasses and a shower of sugar)

1. Awaken Baked ~a fully caffeinated chocolate chip cookie infused with organic fair trade coffee. Equivalent to one cup of coffee!!

2. Chocolate Chip Nookie~a chocolate chip cookie infused with Maca Root, a Peruvian Root which has been known to be a natural aphrodisiac.  Very rich in taste and sea salt is inside.

3. Tough Cookie~a peanut butter caramel cookie infused with 10 grams of whey protein.

4. Great Full - a vegan sweet potato cranberry oatmeal cookie.  Cranberries and sweet potatoes are a great source for antioxidants.

5. Snap Back~a chewy gingersnap infused with cayenne pepper, cloves and blackstrap molasses. These three ingredients are great for body detox.  This cookie is being sold as our hangover cookie!

6.Cherry Bomb~In addition to being gluten-free and packed with probiotics, the Cherry Bomb detonates hunger with it's rich double chocolate cherry taste!

About The Cookie Department~

Their team of experts work around the clock to bring highly calibrated confections to discerning dessert lovers. Starting from simple ingredients including organic coffee, their scientists of sweetness bake creative cookies that are delicious and fully functional.

About the Founders~

Akiva Resnikoff worked in a variety of regular jobs until one afternoon, during a dull, regular-company meeting, he hit on the original idea of the 'functional' treat while snacking on cookies and coffee. That day, the first purposeful cookie was born: the Awaken Baked Cookie.

In late 2009 he officially launched The Cookie Department, where he is now COO.

Pam Marcus brought her interest in health and all things wonderful lead her to co-found and become CEO.

Scentsy Review & Giveaway! 12/20*CLOSED*

I love my house to smell good.I have candles and tea lights in almost every room. But it seems that no matter what I buy the scent just doesn't seem to last.I have spent so much money trying different ones and I swear that I should have bought stock in tea lights the way I buy them!! That is why I was super excited when I was asked to review some Scentsy Products. What is Scentsy~You ask?! Well~let me tell you~ Scentsy sells wickless candles, ceramic warmers and home-fragrance products.  A wickless candle, called a Scentsy Bar or a Scentsy Brick, is a highly fragrant wax bar that is warmed to release fragrance into the air. And they have over 80 scents to choose from! So~I know that you will find one that matches you too!  Because the wax is gently warmed rather than burned, it can hold more fragrance oil than a traditional candle. And, because there is no flame, there is no smoke, soot or lead. Scentsy wickless candles are a safer alternative to tradition...

Midwest Dairy Council~Dairy Makes Sense Giveaway!*CLOSED*

As you may have heard, June was National Dairy Month. June Dairy Month started in 1937, as a promotion to help distribute extra milk when cows started on pasture in the warm summer months.  Today, its rich history continues, with communities, companies and people from all over the country observing June Dairy Month in a variety of ways. In the Midwest, dairy farms and families often open their gates to visitors at breakfasts and tours , while grocery stores and other business feature dairy products during the month. Milk and other dairy products are great sources of vitamins and minerals. For years, we’ve heard milk “does a body good,” but research shows that many people don’t fully understand the whole story of the nutritional value found in dairy. According to the U.S government’s dietary guidelines, we should be eating three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt every day. Dairy products provide four of the seven nutrients Americans are missing the most, in...
