PROBAR Fruition Review & Giveaway 6/28

Gluten in our food system has received a lot of attention recently. It’s estimated that celiac disease affects 1 out of every 133 people and generally speaking around 18 million Americans have some degree of gluten sensitivity. The culprit is the hard-to-digest protein called gluten, that even a healthy intestine can not completely break down. For those with celiac disease, the undigested gluten essentially causes the body’s immune system to lash out at itself, leading to malabsorption, bloating and diarrhea — the classic gastrointestinal symptoms — but also, at times, joint pain, skin rashes and other problems.

For these reasons, PROBAR is proud to announce that they are moving away from gluten as much as possible. PROBAR’s first certified gluten-free product is due to come out in March 2012: a fruit-dense, superfood snack bar (~150 calories). Fruition is designed to deliver 1 serving of fruit in every bar and is built from a 100% vegan, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free medley of dates, oats, chia seeds, and cashews.

Fruition is the latest gluten-free addition to the PROBAR family. This fruit-based, superfood snack bar is designed to be satisfying on-the-go without the extra fat and calories. fruition is the marriage of dates, gluten-free raw oats, chia seeds and cashews in 7 mouth-watering real fruit flavors. With superb fruit flavors, robust texture and blend of organic ingredients, fruition is Simply Real.

There are 7 tasty flavors~
  • Lemon
  • Cherry
  • Strawberry
  • Chocolate Orange
  • Peach
  • Cran-Raspberry
  • Blueberry

I was sent a box of assorted Fruition By PROBARS. I was lucky that the grandchildren have been here because as soon as I opened up the cherry one~it was all over. The aroma of cherries was there as soon as I opened the wrapper. I have to say that this one was my favorite. Of course the Chocolate Orange was great too!

Scentsy Review & Giveaway! 12/20*CLOSED*

I love my house to smell good.I have candles and tea lights in almost every room. But it seems that no matter what I buy the scent just doesn't seem to last.I have spent so much money trying different ones and I swear that I should have bought stock in tea lights the way I buy them!! That is why I was super excited when I was asked to review some Scentsy Products. What is Scentsy~You ask?! Well~let me tell you~ Scentsy sells wickless candles, ceramic warmers and home-fragrance products.  A wickless candle, called a Scentsy Bar or a Scentsy Brick, is a highly fragrant wax bar that is warmed to release fragrance into the air. And they have over 80 scents to choose from! So~I know that you will find one that matches you too!  Because the wax is gently warmed rather than burned, it can hold more fragrance oil than a traditional candle. And, because there is no flame, there is no smoke, soot or lead. Scentsy wickless candles are a safer alternative to tradition...

Midwest Dairy Council~Dairy Makes Sense Giveaway!*CLOSED*

As you may have heard, June was National Dairy Month. June Dairy Month started in 1937, as a promotion to help distribute extra milk when cows started on pasture in the warm summer months.  Today, its rich history continues, with communities, companies and people from all over the country observing June Dairy Month in a variety of ways. In the Midwest, dairy farms and families often open their gates to visitors at breakfasts and tours , while grocery stores and other business feature dairy products during the month. Milk and other dairy products are great sources of vitamins and minerals. For years, we’ve heard milk “does a body good,” but research shows that many people don’t fully understand the whole story of the nutritional value found in dairy. According to the U.S government’s dietary guidelines, we should be eating three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt every day. Dairy products provide four of the seven nutrients Americans are missing the most, in...
