Gain insight into the life of the controversial and inspiring woman who led the United Kingdom for more than ten years as the BBC just released The Rise andFall of Margaret Thatcher on DVD October 18.
This is a brilliant BBC drama never before seen in the US. Britain’s “Iron Lady” is portrayed by three of Britain’s best actresses in three parts. In Margaret: The Long Walk to Finchley, Andrea Riseborough (Party Animals) provides a very personal look at the determined young Maggie with her eye on Parliament. Patricia Hodge (Rumpole of the Bailey) stars in the controversial The Falklands Play, while Lindsay Duncan (Christopher and His Kind) delivers a mesmerizing performance of her final days as Prime Minister in Margaret Thatcher.
I really liked this DVD as it held your attention. It shows her at best and her worse. As she had many strengths and also fatal flaws. The actresses really did a great job portraying her. If you are into politics this is a must watch as is described as a must-own DVD set for all history buffs and Anglophiles alike.
