Midwest Dairy Council~Dairy Makes Sense Giveaway!*CLOSED*

As you may have heard, June was National Dairy Month.
June Dairy Month started in 1937, as a promotion to help distribute extra milk when cows started on pasture in the warm summer months.  Today, its rich history continues, with communities, companies and people from all over the country observing June Dairy Month in a variety of ways.

In the Midwest, dairy farms and families often open their gates to visitors at breakfasts and tours, while grocery stores and other business feature dairy products during the month.

Milk and other dairy products are great sources of vitamins and minerals. For years, we’ve heard milk “does a body good,” but research shows that many people don’t fully understand the whole story of the nutritional value found in dairy.

According to the U.S government’s dietary guidelines, we should be eating three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt every day.

Dairy products provide four of the seven nutrients Americans are missing the most, including calcium, potassium, magnesium and vitamin A. Additionally, calcium does more than just protect bones. Research shows that calcium might also help:
  • Reduce high blood pressure
  • Reduce the risk of certain cancers
  • Maintain a healthy weight

Being from the Midwest I had family members that lived on a farm when I was a child. We would go and visit them and I would watch them milk the cows and then drink the fresh milk.
Me~I don't like that fresh of milk I can wait until it is pasteurized to drink it as it just doesn't taste right to me. I guess that  growing up in the city has a lot to do with it.
But I could not live without my cheese~as I put cheese on almost everything! I eat many different kinds and there is not too many flavors that I don't like.I love ham and cheese omelets and they even taste better when Bob makes them :-)

Now for the Great News~Midwest Dairy  has a giveaway bundle to give to one of my readers.  Each bundle includes:
