Inspired by a true story, overweight outsider Jimmy Winterpock is subjected to cruel bullying from his high school classmates. Outside the comfort of his family, going to school or playing sports proves to be a humiliating experience. Despite the teasing and torment, Jimmy manages to focus on his goals in life: to lose weight and win over the girl of his dreams.
This is a great movie for the whole family to watch.As it shows all about bullying in the schools.Yeah,it is harsh in some parts but it is the truth what is going on today.As kids are cruel~if you are different they are going to bully you. I was so happy to see that Jimmy took the right way and stopped the bullying. But it is not that easy for all kids. I would recommend this movie to everyone~as we loved it!
The newly released DVD is filled with special features including audio commentary with the director and authors of the novels, cast interviews and bullying prevention information from the International Bullying Prevention Association.

I have never seen this movie. I do know that there is way too much of bullying going on at schools.

A good review on this important topic. The book and movie are being used nationwide to start conversation between parents and kids, also to get the bystanders off the sideline.
