My 10 Tips For Keeping Families Safe On The Road!

Now that Summer is here~people will be traveling more.As there are just more things to do and see in the warmer weather. And that means more traffic, and it is so important that you remember to keep your family safe in your vehicle.
Thanks to Social Moms and Safelite AutoGlass I have been thinking about 10 tips to keep us safe.

My Top 10 Tips~

1~Make sure that your vehicle is in tip~top shape. As the last thing you want to do is break down in this heat.If you don't have someone to look at it for you~make sure that you make a appointment to have a mechanic or local garage do it. As if it is something simple~it will cost next to nothing.

2~Click~It or Ticket! Make sure that you always wear your seat-belts. So many people have been in accidents without them on and have been seriously injured~or worse..And,not only is it the law but if you get pulled over you will get a fine. Why risk it???

3~Keep your eyes on the road.No matter what~you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times. No looking back at the kids.No looking for that CD that you just have to listen too.Just listen to your kids as I am sure that they can come up with some good stories to pass the time!

4~No texting or talking on the phone. That makes me so mad when I see someone weaving all over and then come to find out that they are doing one or the other. There can't really be anything that important that can't wait until you get out of the car!

5~Make sure that you are prepared if you were to break down somewhere. Keep water~snacks~a blanket and a flashlight. As even though you have a cell phone it could take some time for someone to get to you..And it will keep you all happy until help arrives!

6~Think you can ignore a chip in your windshield? Think again! The windshield provides up to 30% of your vehicles structural integrity, and a chip smaller than 6 inches (or the size of a dollar bill) can easily be repaired by filling it with a special resin.

7~Make sure that you leave enough between you and the vehicle in front of you. As if they were to slam on their brakes~that will get you enough space and time to avoid a accident.

8~Check your tire pressure as you want to make sure that you have the correct amount of air in each of your tires.A under-inflated, over-inflated, worn down or misaligned tire can be extremely dangerous, particularly in hot summer weather.

9~Replace your windshield wipers.Winter is real tough on them~and you don't want them going out in a downpour!

10~Safelite AutoGlass brings you peace of mind by emailing you a Technician Profile before your appointment, showing you a photograph and credentials of the technician coming to your home or place of business.

So~those are my top 10 tips.I am sure that you have some of your own that I missed. I would love to hear yours too!

Scentsy Review & Giveaway! 12/20*CLOSED*

I love my house to smell good.I have candles and tea lights in almost every room. But it seems that no matter what I buy the scent just doesn't seem to last.I have spent so much money trying different ones and I swear that I should have bought stock in tea lights the way I buy them!! That is why I was super excited when I was asked to review some Scentsy Products. What is Scentsy~You ask?! Well~let me tell you~ Scentsy sells wickless candles, ceramic warmers and home-fragrance products.  A wickless candle, called a Scentsy Bar or a Scentsy Brick, is a highly fragrant wax bar that is warmed to release fragrance into the air. And they have over 80 scents to choose from! So~I know that you will find one that matches you too!  Because the wax is gently warmed rather than burned, it can hold more fragrance oil than a traditional candle. And, because there is no flame, there is no smoke, soot or lead. Scentsy wickless candles are a safer alternative to tradition...

Midwest Dairy Council~Dairy Makes Sense Giveaway!*CLOSED*

As you may have heard, June was National Dairy Month. June Dairy Month started in 1937, as a promotion to help distribute extra milk when cows started on pasture in the warm summer months.  Today, its rich history continues, with communities, companies and people from all over the country observing June Dairy Month in a variety of ways. In the Midwest, dairy farms and families often open their gates to visitors at breakfasts and tours , while grocery stores and other business feature dairy products during the month. Milk and other dairy products are great sources of vitamins and minerals. For years, we’ve heard milk “does a body good,” but research shows that many people don’t fully understand the whole story of the nutritional value found in dairy. According to the U.S government’s dietary guidelines, we should be eating three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt every day. Dairy products provide four of the seven nutrients Americans are missing the most, in...
