Transitioning from the Internet to television, Children's Hospital is a comedy series created by Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) ~and featuring an all-star cast~that lampoons the medical show genre by exploring the emotional struggles and sexual politics of a group of doctors with supercharged libidos. The dedication of these doctors to their personal lives is relentlessand is interrupted only by the occasional need to treat sick children. No medical condition is too severe to distract these oblivious physicians from their primal need to flirt, gossip, make out, talk about sex, show their underwear and more, all in front of horrified children and their anxious parents. The new series is based upon the Webby Award-winning digital show that debuted on TheWB.com in 2008 and quickly became a Web hit with its twisted take on network medical dramas like Grey's Anatomy and House. Now you can watch Childrens Hospital Seasons 1 and 2 anytime that you want as soon it will be on DVD!
The first season has a great collection of stories~Dr. Lola Spratt (Erinn Hayes) pretends to have a brain tumor, which quickly spirals out of control; sexy Dr. Cat Black (Lake Bell) who has a torrid affair with a six-year-old suffering from Advanced Aging Disease; and clown doctor Blake becomes obsessed with curing people with the power of laughter. This series is adult good humor.
I remember years ago when my kids were sick with asthma~it seems like we were there all the time. And now that I think about we were! My daughter had been in the hospital for a few days~I was up visiting when I was told that my son was sick too and down in the ER and they were getting ready to admit him now. I was so busy running back and forth that every time that the nurses seen me they would just smile at me. Once I got both kids admitted and on the same floor~and they got they settled. I finally had a chance to sit down and catch my breath.Imagine my surprise when I saw that all the nurses on the floor had made sure I had everything for the nite. They had pillows~blankets~magazines~some snacks and even those little cans of Diet Pepsi! I was so overwhelmed that of course I cried~but that meant so much to me. And that really made a bad situation look a little brighter! It was great to see that people that work in the hospital not only help the sick kids but also the parents.
Do you have a special story to tell about a hospital? I'd love to hear about it!
