My Plans For 2011

Wow! Can you believe that it is almost the end of 2010? Before we know it~2011 will be here.Do you make New Years Resolutions? I am one that makes News Years Resolutions and don't follow thru with most of my list..

But~when 2011 comes around I am quitting smoking! I am tired of the cost~the smell and not to mention the cost of the Cancer sticks and what they do to not only my health but also the ones around me.I know that my grandchildren "HATE" that I smoke. And,I am not one to use the word "HATE" as I just think that is such a cruel cold word but that is how they feel about me smoking. They tell me all the time that it stinks and it is about time that I listen.

I have recently lost my Mom to lung cancer and it was so hard to see her like that..You would think I would quit smoking But I did the opposite~I smoked more.My sister also suffers from COPD and she is on oxygen and I pray for her every day.As my Mom told us to STOP SMOKING too.

I have decided that Stop Smoking is going to be at the top of my "New Year's Resolution" list and this year I am going to follow thru as I want to be here to see my grandchildren grow up and be there when they get married. And~I know that if I quit now God willing I will be there.

  2. Congrats to you on making that resolution. I quit cold turkey years ago. It is the best thing for my health that I ever did. It is not easy at first but just keep on going and you will be fine.

Midwest Dairy Council~Dairy Makes Sense Giveaway!*CLOSED*

As you may have heard, June was National Dairy Month. June Dairy Month started in 1937, as a promotion to help distribute extra milk when cows started on pasture in the warm summer months.  Today, its rich history continues, with communities, companies and people from all over the country observing June Dairy Month in a variety of ways. In the Midwest, dairy farms and families often open their gates to visitors at breakfasts and tours , while grocery stores and other business feature dairy products during the month. Milk and other dairy products are great sources of vitamins and minerals. For years, we’ve heard milk “does a body good,” but research shows that many people don’t fully understand the whole story of the nutritional value found in dairy. According to the U.S government’s dietary guidelines, we should be eating three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt every day. Dairy products provide four of the seven nutrients Americans are missing the most, in...
