Del Monte Tomato Kick-Off Sweeps + Giveaway 2/22

Del Monte Southwestern Tomato Kick-Off Sweepstakes + Giveaway!

~Are You Ready For Some Football???~

Super Bowl Sunday is almost here! Not sure who is going to win this year. But~I love to watch the game and the commercials are the Best!! Not to mention all the good foods that you can make to watch the game~as isn't that half the fun???

I like to try new recipes and Del Monte has two new varieties of tomatoes to help me out!

Del Monte Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
                            and

Del Monte Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes with Chipotle Chilies

I don't know about you but we like a little kick in our foods and the new Del Monte Southwestern-Style Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes are the perfect way to spice up main dishes and snacking recipes!!

I have came up with a recipe that is real easy to make and tastes great!

~Taco Rice Bowls~

Ingredients~
  • 1  1/2 Pounds of Hamburger
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 1/4 Cup Green Pepper
  • Fresh Garlic{to your taste}
  • Fresh Cilantro{to your taste}
  • 2 Cups of Rice{Cooked}
  • 1 Can Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
  • 1 Can Petite Cut Diced Tomatoes with Chipotle Chilies
  •  Flour Tortillas
I also cut up lettuce and had shredded cheese,black olives and sour cream.Of course you can add anything that you like on yours.

 Directions~
  1. Fry hamburger with onion,green pepper and spices. Drain well.
  2. Make your rice,as we are going to add this to the hamburger.
  3. Add everything together in a big fry pan and keep on low~stirring often so it does not stick.{I added just a small amount of water too.}

While that is simmering we are going to make our Taco Shells. I just took some flour tortillas and put them in the microwave for a few minutes to soften them up. I applied some cooking over,very lightly on one side. Then I got out a old muffin tin to bake the tortillas into the shells. I know it sounds crazy~but it really works!

To Form Bowls~
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Lightly oil the  cooked flour tortillas on one side. Form each tortilla into a loose bowl shape and tuck between cups of an upside down muffin tin. Press tortilla down in the middle so shell will have a flat bottom to sit on. Bake in oven for 8-10 minutes. The shells should be golden brown and crispy all over~but watch them so they don't burn.

These are so easy to make and are cheaper then the ones that you buy in the store. I think that they taste better too.

The end results is that the whole family loved them! I am sure that the Del Monte tomatoes really made the difference,as the spices and peppers were Perfect! The majority of Del Monte products are picked at the peak of ripeness and canned on the same day, to ensure nutrients and flavor are locked in.

PAAS Easter Egg Dye and Heinz Vinegar Review

Easter is early this year,so we decided to dye eggs last night. You know that the Easter Bunny has got to get the baskets ready so we need to help with the coloring.{So~I am told by my grandson} We were super excited as this year we were sent some new PAAS Easter egg dyes to try.       This year, PAAS has seven new egg decorating kits, including Volcano Eggsplosion, a kit that uses melted crayon shavings to provide instant color and Touch of Velvet, a kit that uses double stick adhesives and flocking powder to create fun, fuzzy shapes on your Easter creations! For the brightest, most vivid colors, add one tablet and three tablespoons of Heinz Distilled White Vinegar to a PAAS Color Cup or a one-cup container. Once the tablet has dissolved, add ½ cup water and stir gently.      According to the PAAS  more than 180 million eggs a year are dyed with PAAS dye!   Also, to help keep hard-cooked eggs from cracking, add two tablespoons of Heinz Distilled W

Carmex-Summer Fun Bag And More Giveaway 8/15

Summer is in full swing~so chances are you are spending more time outdoors. Not only should you apply sunscreen but also make sure that your lips are protected. As there is nothing worse then dry~cracked lips. I have been using Carmex for as long as I can remember. I was so excited to see a package arrive from them! Carmex has a new flavor~Pomegranate. This new scent is awesome~I love it! Not too sweet and it makes my lips feel so smooth just like the others! Along with the Pomegranate flavor, they also sent me all their other flavors that I already use~lime twist~ cherry~original~vanilla and strawberry. Each Carmex lip balm has a SPF of 15 to protect your lips from the effects of the summer sun. So~you can wear these without having to worry about the bad rays! The Beach Bag that was sent it also very nice! It is a thick canvas and has the rope handles. There is also a little bag inside that zippers to keep your keys,loose change ect..I am loving this bag~it
